Samir is a respected interventional cardiologist, innovator and experienced practitioner in the field of cardiology. He holds Founder’s seats on both the Transradial & Vascular Access Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the Founding Course Director of the Transradial Interventions Programs of the SCAI.
He is Professor of Medicine, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, Scranton, PA; Program Director, Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases, The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education, Scranton, PA; and Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Samir is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. He also holds a Diplomate of Certification Board of Cardiac Computed Tomography. He has won awards for his work, including the Borst Award from The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education and has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles.
He is recognized nationally and internationally for his expertise in cardiology, particularly interventional cardiology. He has been and is an invited faculty at a number of institutions in the United States and abroad, and is a named inventor in more than thirty US and international patents.
